Dazzling white teeth are a sign of health and satisfaction. Many poor life habits are changing the colour of your teeth every day and if you do not take care of them, through a relatively short period your white teeth will begin to get yellow and dark. Bleaching is one way to return the natural colour of your teeth. The effects of bleaching will depend on many things, but primarily on the method used to restore the natural colour of teeth.
Our poor life habits are primarily to blame for the discoloration of the teeth. Coffee, tobacco, red wine, tea, various coloured drinks such as coca-cola, drugs and other substances will leave a mark on our teeth and greatly affect their colour.
After the preliminary tartar removal, and once all the other accumulations had been cleaned, the teeth should be applied with a gel whose main ingredient is hydrogene peroxide. A blue halogen light of the ZOOM! lamp is directed onto the coated teeth for 15 minutes. The specific wavelength of the light induces the decomposition of hydrogene peroxide which releases oxygen. Oxygen released in this way enters the enamel and the dentin, and changes the colour of the tooth with an average improvement of up to several shades. Then the gel is applied again and the process is repeated. Depending on the patient's preferance and the recommendation of the dentist, the procedure can be repeated for 3 or 4 times. Throughout the procedure the patient's eyes are protected by special glasses that cannot be removed during the procedure.
Besides the ZOOM! lamp method, teeth can be bleached with less effective methods. The least harmful and simplest method is sandblasting, but the effect is limited. The procedure only allows the removal of surface staining with no enamel damage. Postage job and methods with various aids are used in consultation with the dentist. There is a common use of the splint, which is made by the dentist from your teeth bite. The splint is inserted with a special gel and it is worn every night during 8-10 days.
The results will generally be positive, but there are no rules. It will mostly depend on the content of your teeth and their natural colour, as well as the applied method of bleaching. In most cases you can expect brighter teeth for a few shades.
